On Behalf of Residents across Tiverton and Minehead
Dear Rachel Gilmour MP
I am writing to express my deep frustration at your decision to again vote with Labour. The Clean Heat Market Mechanism Regulations, will unfairly penalise rural communities like Tiverton & Minehead.
By backing this policy, you are supporting a hidden tax on heating that will drive up costs for families, pensioners, and businesses who have no viable alternative to gas or oil boilers. Heat pumps are simply not an option for many rural homes due to high costs, planning restrictions, and insulation challenges. Instead of offering real solutions, you and Labour are forcing through a policy that punishes those who live in the countryside.
This is yet another example of Westminster career politicians ignoring the realities of rural life. We need MPs who will stand up for their communities, not rubber-stamp policies that make life harder for us.
You had a choice, and you chose to side with Labour against your own constituents.
Yours sincerely,
James Wright
