It was great to be invited by the NFU to meet with farmers and Ian Lidel-Granger MP on Exmoor last week. Hosted by Hiddon Farms a 1,500 acre beef and sheep farm on the Holnicote Estate. Lots of issues were discussed but focused on
- Trade deals, this year the first lamb was exported to America for over a decade.
- Progress on controlling TB and the future of the badger cull and potential cattle vaccines.
- The merits and demerits of farm assurance schemes
- Roll out of ELMs.
Despite the cold weather it was good to see a wide range of different businesses and situations represented amongst the farmers and that Ian Lidel Granger MP was able to join us and share his thoughts on the matters of the day.
