Thanks to the Conservative Government’s £5 billion Project Gigabit, coverage of gigabit-capable broadband has increased from seven per cent to 70 per cent in three years, with more than 20 million households and businesses now able to tap into rapid and reliable internet. The benefits of faster broadband cannot be understated – helping businesses to move online, creating jobs, and levelling up homes and communities.
James Wright, Cabinet Member for the Environment and Rural Affairs at Horsham District Councils (pictured on his farm) says "Better broadband will mean those living in rural areas can enjoy 21st century speeds in the home and workplace, making their lives easier and more productive. That is why I am delighted the Government’s £5 billion Project Gigabit is making process across the UK, with 20 million premises connected since 2019 and 69.84% of premises across South East will benefit."
