My ethos for delivering the council's Net Zero strategy has been to make sure we are delivering excellent public services, whilst reducing our impact on the planet and the taxpayer.
That is why I am delighted that the Cabinet has followed my recommendation to work with Community Energy Horsham to bring Solar Panels to our tenanted buildings, starting with the Bridge Leisure Centre. CHE has a unique model that is entirely funded by local investors, who receive a return from the solar panels which are installed on council buildings. The tenant of the property receives a reduced energy rate, whilst consuming completely renewable energy.
Its schemes like this, which are ground up and community lead that will mean as a district we reach our Net Zero goals. You can find out more about Community Energy Horsham on their website https://energisesouth.coop/community-energy-horsham/
